Stephen has built up an army of female fans--despite giving sweet Sally Webster such a hard time as evil Greg Kelly in Coronation Street.The 33-year-old heart-throb says: "Being seen as a sex symbol is embarrassing and funny. It is not an image I have ever courted."
"I expected it when I played the gigolo Lysander in The Man Who Made Husbands Jealous. But it is strange to be seen as sexy when I am playing someone as nasty as Greg."
"I get fan mail from all ages, from teenagers to grannies. Most of it is harmless enough but one woman said she wanted to take me on holiday and have her wicked way with me."
Stephen's choice as sexiest female star is his Street pal Tracy Shaw.
He says: "With Tracy, beauty is not just skin deep. She is a genuinely warm and lovely person."
The least sexy thing he has ever done as an actor was to dress up as a giant rabbit for a TV show.
He says: "I came out of the costume hot, red in the face and not at all sexy."
