Les invites Greg over to meet the Battersby family. Greg shows up with a bottle of champagne but Les wants to save it for a "special" occasion. This is the first Greg has seen of his half-sister, Leanne. They chat and Leanne tells him that she and Nick ran away to Scotland to get married. Les says that Leanne is just like him, romantic and impulsive. Leanne chimes in with "and big on commitment." Greg reflexively spits his beer on the floor, at that comment, then says "sorry."

Nick asks what it was like growing up not knowing one's father, did he go around the street looking at strangers wondering if they were he. Greg says he did a bit when he was younger, and he used to wonder what it would be like if he turned up on the doorstep. Nick said, "like the first time he saw you, he'd slam the door in your face?!" Greg looks down at the floor and Leanne smiles sheepishly and says, "he didn't, did he?" Greg says he realises it is a big shock to have some stranger muscling into their family like that. They would think you were after something. Leanne laughs that off, as they are not going to get much off of Les.

Les asks Greg if he can sing. Greg says no. Leanne says you ought to hear Les on the karoke. Les gets Greg to tell them about his soccer career. Greg says he never got past the First Division, as he damaged his cruciate ligaments. Greg tells Leanne that she is different than what he expected; he was expecting her to be more "girly".
