MY KIND OF CHRISTMAS

After the way he's treated Sally lately, Greg Kelly isn't going to be very popular in Weatherfield this year. But the actor who plays him isn't worried, for Stephen Billington is spending the holiday abroad. "I'm going to Berlin to see my sister who is living out there at the moment," he reveals. "She's been working there as a cabin manager for an airline for one and a half years, just on the old East side of the city. She trains staff and does the Eastern European routes. I went out there for a couple of days during the summer and it is fantastic. I'm a big fan of Brecht, and there's the Berlin Ensemble Theatre there--it's all in German of course but I'd love to go, they have some fantastic directors and some very good ideas about staging so hopefully I'll see a couple of shows there. And there are fantastic restaurants and bars and clubs." This will be Stephen's second Christmas abroad. "Last Christmas I was in San Francisco, so I've had a bit of a jet set lifestyle in the last couple of years, but maybe next year I'll do the traditional thing," he adds.
